The Process & Fees
If you would like to proceed with psychological therapy, please call our office on 0411 153 121 and arrange an appointment. If you go through to our voicemail, please leave a message. Your call is important and we are committed to getting back to you.
During your initial phone call, we will take down some details, including whether you will be attending under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), which can be obtained from your GP. You do not need one of these to attend psychological therapy. If you would like to make a claim through Medicare, however, you will need a MHCP and a referral to us, prior to attending the appointment that you wish to claim. If you don’t attend under a MHCP you may be able to claim a rebate through your private health insurer.
After the initial phone call we will send you an email confirmation of your appointment details, location, parking, and some other information about our practice.
When you come to your appointment, you will need to bring your MHCP and referral (if you have one) and any other paperwork. It is advisable for you to arrive a few minutes early, as your appointment will start at the scheduled time and we want you to get the most out of your sessions.
Each appointment is approximately 50-55 minutes in length.
Fees are due at the end of your appointment and can be paid with cash, credit card or EFTPOS. We have HICAPS and online claiming of Medicare rebates. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, talk to us about whether a reduced fee is possible.
If you have a MHCP, you can immediately claim the Medicare rebate, which is currently $124.50 for Clinical Psychologists and $84.80 for Registered Psychologists. You can claim up to 10 sessions per calendar year under Medicare.
